Who's Right?

1 Signing in is optional

The entire app works without an account. If you do not sign in we never ask for your name, email address or any identity document. To track your remaining usage we use a randomly generated device ID: it is stored on your device, sent with requests to our server, and held there only alongside your remaining time. It is not a hardware identifier and it is deleted automatically once unused. Clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app resets it.

If you choose to sign in with Google, your weekly free time doubles. In that case the only thing we store is the anonymous account identifier that corresponds to your Google account (the Firebase uid) — an opaque string that does not identify you and tells us neither your name nor your address. At sign-in Google passes your name, email address and profile picture to the app — Google's own consent screen tells you so. We do not read them, do not process them and never write them anywhere; the account identifier is the only thing that persists. The account identifier answers exactly one question for us: which account your remaining time belongs to. When you sign in, the time left on that device is transferred to your account, so it follows you to a new phone.

You can sign out at any time from within the app, and it returns to working without an account. If you want your account and the time attached to it deleted entirely, you can request that at the address in section 9.

2 Audio and transcript are never stored

During a debate the microphone is used only at that moment; there is no background listening. Audio is processed in real time so it can be turned into text. The audio, the transcript, the speakers' names and the scores are held only in the device's temporary memory (RAM) and are erased completely when the debate ends. No audio and no transcript is stored on our servers or in any cloud.

3 Both parties consent

Before a debate can start, the app shows a step confirming that both speakers agree to be listened to. Recording or transcribing another person without their knowledge may be illegal where you live; do not use this app to do that.

4 Third-party services

For the app to work, audio and text are sent to the services below for real-time processing only. We do not instruct any of them to retain it:

• Speechmatics — real-time speech-to-text (European region).
• AI judge (LLM) — real-time evaluation of the transcript (live scoring: Groq; final analysis: Google Gemini).
• ElevenLabs — speaking the winner announcement in a natural judge voice. Only the short announcement text is sent (which includes the winner's first name); no audio, no debate transcript and no scores are sent. The text is not retained after it has been spoken.
• Google AdMob — advertising during free time; an advertising identifier may be used.
• Google Analytics for Firebase — anonymous usage counters only (see section 5).
• Google Play Billing — extra-time purchases.
• Firebase Authentication — only if you choose to sign in with Google. Google performs the sign-in; only the anonymous account identifier (uid) reaches us.

This processing may take place on servers outside your country, including outside the United States, and is disclosed on the consent screen inside the app.

5 Usage statistics

We collect anonymous usage counters through Google Analytics for Firebase to answer one question: at which step do people give up?

What is collected: which stage was reached (permission, voice enrolment, debate, result), how long those steps took, whether a purchase screen was opened, whether a connection error occurred; plus device model, operating system version, country and an app-specific random identifier.

What is NOT collected: audio, transcripts, speaker names and scores never appear in any analytics event. As described in section 2 they exist only in the device's temporary memory and are erased when the debate ends. Your name, email address or identity never enters any statistic.

We have deliberately refused session-recording tools (such as screen replay), because a screen recording would carry the names and live captions on the debate screen to a third party as pixels.

6 Advertising

A small banner ad is shown during free time. No ads are shown during purchased extra time. Ads are served by Google AdMob. On Android you can limit ad personalization at any time from Settings → Google → Ads.

7 Children

This app is for users aged 13 and over. It is not part of the Google Play Families programme and it is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8 Your rights

Because audio and transcripts are never stored, there is no record of them to access or delete. The only record held on our server is the daily usage counter tied to the random device ID (automatically deleted after a short period); server access logs (IP address and timestamp) may also be kept briefly for security. You may contact us at any time to ask what is held about your device ID or to have it deleted.

California residents (CCPA/CPRA). In the past 12 months we have collected the categories described above: identifiers (a random device ID and an advertising identifier), commercial information (purchase records), internet activity (anonymous usage counters) and audio — the last of which is processed in real time and never retained. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not sell or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising in exchange for money. Advertising identifiers are made available to Google AdMob to serve ads, which some laws treat as "sharing"; you can limit this from your Android ad settings as described in section 6. You have the right to know, delete and correct, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To exercise them, email the address in section 9 — no account is required and we will not ask you to create one.
