Who's Right?

1 Before you go live

Everyone in frame must have consented. Opening a hearing takes two separate confirmations: first the phone's owner, then the other person, with their own finger. This is not a formality — broadcasting someone's face and voice live to strangers has to be their own decision.

Third parties who happen to be in frame are broadcast too. Look at who is behind you before you set the camera up.

The topic is the first thing a viewer sees. Someone who lands there at random has nothing else to go on; misleading or baiting topics are removed.

2 What is not allowed

The following are prohibited both on air and in chat, and a hearing is cut when they are found:

• Hate and harassment — demeaning people over race, ethnicity, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability or similar; targeted harassment of an individual.
• Violence and threats — calls to harm someone, threats, displaying weapons.
• Sexual content — nudity, sexual acts, sexually explicit speech.
• Children — under-13s may not use this app or appear in hearings. Any inappropriate content involving children is reported to the authorities immediately.
• Illegal activity — selling drugs, weapons or illegal services; fraud.
• Exposing private information — someone else's address, phone number, ID or account details. Do not broadcast your own either: the stream is live and cannot be taken back.
• Impersonation — pretending to be someone else, or to represent an organisation you do not.
• Spam and manipulation — repeated messages, advertising, or trying to farm votes or reports.

Arguing about a subject and attacking someone over it are not the same thing. Politics, religion, health, money — people argue about these, and this app exists for exactly that. What is prohibited is the behaviour, not the topic.

3 Reporting

Every hearing has a Report button, right next to Next. The two work together: you never have to keep watching something you dislike.

A room that gathers enough reports is automatically suspended and goes to the moderation team. A suspension is not a penalty but a pause: a human makes the decision.

Every chat message also carries Report, and every user can be Blocked.

4 What happens

There are four separate actions, applied according to the severity:

• The broadcast is cut — that hearing ends.
• The room's chat is turned off — the broadcast continues, chat stops.
• The account is muted in chat — it can still watch and open hearings.
• The account is banned from broadcasting — the most severe.

These are deliberately separate: taking someone's right to open a hearing because they went too far once in chat would mean applying our heaviest penalty to our lightest violation.

Every action is logged with who, when and why.

5 Appeals

If you believe an action was wrong, write to the address in section 6. We keep the log, so we can look at what happened together.

Broadcasts are not recorded. That holds for appeals too: there is no video for us to review. Decisions rest on live viewing, the chat text and the report count. Everything we do store is listed in the privacy policy.
